A Bit About Paul
Paul Jeffery was born in Bradford, and is a singer/songwriter and solo artist in his own right. Paul also plays keyboards in a variety of bands around the Leeds/Huddersfield area, as well as promoting his albums and singles through his busy gig schedule. In addition to this, Paul regularly works as a session vocalist on recording and writing projects, and has a classical music background (with Grade 8 piano and music theory) but is now, principally, a writer of rock, pop, dance & soul music. In 1997 Paul went to the University Of Salford to study for a BA in Popular Music & Recording, achieving a 1st Class Honours degree where he majored in Composition and Performance. From 2000 onwards, Paul has worked full-time in music, now concentrating more and more as a solo artist/performer and songwriter.
Historically, Paul has worked extensively on the club and pub circuit of Yorkshire and Lancashire. This has been a vital training ground that many of today's Pop wannabes have no experience of! In spite of its unglamorous nature, this type of work gains you immediate experience of how to make a song cut through and catch the attention of an audience.
As a songwriter, Paul has written, recorded and collaborated on literally hundreds of songs. This has led to a publishing deal and management (see links). In 2005 Paul had his first official release in the form of a Charity Single for the Just For Kids appeal. The track was released through Genius Entertainment, the song being recorded by finalists from the TalentStar Community Interest Company (www.talentstar.net). Even though the song was not a fully national release, it reached number 19 in the Independent Label charts. Now Paul works predominantly on his solo work, co-writing with a variety of lyricists and, occasionally, other composers and musicians. (see News for latest updates).
The aim of this website is to be a focal point for Paul's solo Album and Single projects and his broader songwriting work.
